WhatsApp Camera Will Now Scan Documents – Instantly Send PDFs with Manual and Automatic Options

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that allows users to scan documents directly using the app’s camera. With this update, users can quickly scan and send documents as PDFs without needing any third-party apps. The feature offers both manual and automatic scanning modes, making the process smooth and user-friendly.

With this feature, users will be able to easily scan and send documents while using WhatsApp. WhatsApp will offer two modes for capturing documents: Manual and Automatic.

Last year, WhatsApp rolled out a document scanning feature in WhatsApp Beta for iOS version 24.25.89. This feature makes it easy for users to capture documents directly using the WhatsApp camera. It allows users to neatly frame content with borders and instantly send the scanned file in individual chats or groups. With this addition, there's no need for a separate app or web service to scan documents. The good news is that this useful feature is now coming to Android users as well.

WABetaInfo Shares Screenshot of New WhatsApp Document Scanning Feature

WABetaInfo has discovered the new document scanning feature in the WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.18.29, available on the Google Play Store. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of this upcoming feature.

According to the shared screenshot, WhatsApp users will find the new document scanning option directly within the document sharing section. This will allow users to easily scan and send documents while using WhatsApp—without the need for any third-party apps or services.
